Historic Downtown Portsmouth, NH (13miles 17minutes)
Situated on the Piscataqua River, Downtown Portsmouth (portcity.org or portsmouthnh.com
) is a wicked fun area all-year long. It is a working harbor, and you'll see large freighters moving in/out or docked almost every day. The Piscataqua separates New Hampshire from Maine, with the Naval Shipyard in the middle (Nuclear Sub Refitting Port). Lots of old buildings, quaint shops, delicious restaurants, and loads of nightlife make Downtown Portsmouth truly unique, and one of the most expensive areas to live with the ranks of Southern California.
