Funnels
thermoformed from DuPont™ Teflon® FEP film
by Welch Fluorocarbon Inc. of Dover, New Hampshire,
allow the easy transfer of liquids and powders without
spilling.
The
funnels are chemically inert and noncontaminating,
making them ideal for high-purity applications. The
funnels also are nonwetting, allowing complete sample
transfer during trace metal analysis. They can be used
in autoclaves and will function over a wide temperature
range (-200°C to 200°C). Both liquid and powder
funnels are designed to prevent vapor lock and backspill.
Applications
for the funnels include:
- Auto
body refinishing. When transferring automotive paints,
paints can harden on the funnel and then be popped
off simply by squeezing the funnel, eliminating the
use of harsh solvents and cleaners.
- High
school and college chemistry labs. The funnels are
unbreakable, so stems will not snap off.
- Field
sampling. Funnels of Teflon® FEP film comply with
standards for environmental sampling and are ideal
for use in agressive sampling applications.
